Tanzania safari landscape with Kilimanjaro and acacia trees at golden hour

Four properties, one experience

A short brief on each of our four lodges. Where it sits, what stays there, what makes it worth a few nights, and how it pairs with the others.

Serengeti rim with sweeping plains

The first property, twelve suites on the corridor

Built in 2012 on the eastern rim of the Seronera valley. Twelve hand-built suites, all rim-facing, perched directly above the migration corridor. From the bed in any suite you can see the corridor below; from the rim deck at the main lodge you watch the herd move past in dry season.

Stays: Baobab Suite, Acacia Suite, Tembo Villa, Family Suite, Honeymoon Hideaway.
Best for: migration, big cats, lion and leopard density, balloon flights.
When: June to October for dry season game viewing. January to March for calving season in the southern Serengeti.

Eight cloud-level cabins on the crater edge

Opened in 2015. Eight stone-and-thatch cabins set into the crater rim at 2,300m altitude, often above the cloud line at sunrise. The drop into the crater is a few metres from the deck. You wake above the mist, descend for the morning game drive, and are back on the rim by lunch.

Stays: Baobab Suite, Acacia Suite.
Best for: rhino sightings, big five in one morning, dramatic landscape, fireside evenings.
When: Year-round, but the rim can be cold and misty in April-May and November. Bring a fleece even in summer.

Ten beachfront villas on the Nungwi coast

Opened in 2018 on a one-kilometre stretch of private beach near Nungwi. Ten standalone villas, each with private plunge pool and direct sand access. Dhow sundowners are the daily ritual; the lodge crew rigs the boat at three, you board at five, you watch the light go from the deck.

Stays: Tembo Villa, Family Suite, Honeymoon Hideaway, Jasmine Suite.
Best for: post-safari recovery, dhow sailing, snorkelling on the private reef, spice farm visits, Stone Town day trip.
When: June to October for the dry coast. Avoid April-May heavy rains.

Our newest property, opened in 2021. Six suites set in 40 hectares of working Arabica coffee farmland in the Kilimanjaro foothills, with the snow line of Africa's tallest peak in clear view from the main lodge. A natural start or end to a Kilimanjaro trek; a quiet alternative to a full safari week.

Stays: Baobab Suite, Acacia Suite, Family Suite.
Best for: coffee farm experiences, post-trek recovery, mountain breakfasts, family-paced birding. KPAP-aligned trek partner on site.
When: January to March, June to October. The mountain is clearest in the early morning year-round.
